If your stairs look like one of the drawings below, you will need a stair lift for stairs that turn, sometimes called a custom curved rail stair lift, to safely navigate your stairs.  Two of these designs may allow the use of two straight lifts rather than the curved rail system.

An advantage of these lifts is that you can park the chairs off the stairs with 90 or 180 degree park positions or horizontal over runs at the top or bottom of the stairs when room allows. This can facilitate easier & safer use of the stairs and transferring into and out of the stair lift.  Check out our stair lift gallery for views of the finished systems.
